Position Overview
As the Controller, you will be a key leader in our finance department, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). You will oversee critical financial operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and payroll, while providing strategic insights through data analysis and reporting. This role requires an engagd proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels at independent work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to support Cennox’s financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee and optimize accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, and payroll processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Internal Controls and Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret financial data to produce accurate reports, providing actionable insights into Cennox’s financial performance for senior leadership.
  • Audit Support: Conduct internal audits to assess financial health and provide comprehensive documentation to support external audits.
  • Month-End Close: Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and reconciliations.
  • Strategic Reporting: Prepare special reports by analyzing trends, summarizing key findings, and presenting recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Team Leadership: Assign and monitor tasks for finance team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring high performance.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information and strategic plans.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, to align financial strategies with business goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, maintain relevant certifications, and implement best practices to enhance financial processes and systems.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in management accounting, with a proven track record in financial process management, auditing, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and experience with accounting software (e.g., Oracle Fusion Cloud) is a significant advantage.
  • Analytical Expertise: Exceptional ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and recommend actionable strategies to drive business outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Highly organized, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Independent thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Alpharetta, Atlanta.
